The Through-Line

Eric Barker has spent nearly three decades at the intersection of clinical pharmacy and business strategy. His career started in clinical hospital pharmacy — 15 years working directly with patients, physicians, and care teams. That clinical foundation shapes everything he does today. From the hospital, Eric moved into managed care, spending 13 years navigating PBM contracts, formulary design, employer benefits strategy, and health plan operations. He has seen pharmacy benefits from every angle — clinical, operational, and financial — and he knows where the gaps are. Today, Eric advises benefits brokers, employers, captives, and health plans through Positive Partnerships Health Care Consulting.
